Stuart grew up in England and during his High School years played team sports. He started mountain biking during the mid-1980’s boom. In 2000. he moved to California. He has a long and varied race resume which includes foot races from 5km to 100 miles and triathlons from Sprint to Ironman.
Since 2016 he has embraced gravel and has raced at BWR, Crushar in the Tushar and Dirty Kanza 200. Almost as much as he likes gravel he likes climbing and has ridden to the top of some of the highest peaks in the US; Mt Evans, (14,265’), Mauna Kea (13,803’) and over Tioga Pass (9,945’). He is four time member of the Everesting Hall of Fame with three outside and one inside (Zwift) completions
A self confessed data junkie he has been using indoor structured cycling training for over 10 years and is current in the following training Certifications: USAC L2, Training Peaks University and Training Peaks Power Certification
